Centennial Farm ( Costa Mesa )

This small farm was made for educational purposes so there are school tours throughout the year. Public hours are usually from 1pm - 4pm but please check their website prior to making a visit. Admissions and parking is free. They have some live stock there and during our visit they had some adorable piglets! We spent about 30 minutes walking around looking at all the animals and all the vegetables grown on this farm. If you plan to visit the Centennial Farm I would suggest packing a lunch and then you can have a picnic at the Tewinkle park across the street. (Go to the Beaches & Parks tab to see more information on Tewinkle park.)

Park at the South Coast Plaza mall so that you don't have to pay for parking and then walk over the connecting bridge to the sculptures across the street. The map below shows the locations of all the sculptures. You may want to bring a bottle of water with you since the sculptures are spread out within 2 blocks. You can also visit the Noguchi Garden on the corner of Anton Blvd and Park Center Drive. ( See next section for Noguchi Garden). Here you will also find the " Spirit of the Lima Bean " sculpture. California Scenario. A beautiful little sculpture garden by Isamu Noguchi and is only about a block from South Coast plaza. Just park at the mall and walk across the bridge or you can park at TGI Fridays for a small fee. This little area is nestled between some corporate buildings and is very serene ! It is a great place to just sit and read a book or relax with a cup of coffee.

This cute little garden is located on the Cal State Long Beach campus. It is fairly small as it only took us about 5 minutes to walk around the entire garden but it is a pretty place for photos. My kids loved feeding the Koi fishes in the pond and fish food is only $.25 cents for a handful. Don't forget to bring some quarters with you for the fish food and for the parking meters ! After your visit I would suggest stopping by the Colorado Lagoon which is only about 7 minutes away from here. There your kids can swim with the Moon Jellies! (See the section above )

I love this park ! It is located right next to the Newport Beach Civic Center and libray. It's a lovely place not too far from the ocean and it's a great place just to take a short stroll with your kids ! It's also only about 2 minutes away from the Fashion Island Mall so you can head over there for lunch ! You may also want to check out the OCMA (Orange County Museum of Arts) which is also only a few minutes from here. Go the the "Beaches & Parks" tab for more information.
